As a lawyer, Corey Friedman has fought the powerful so families are treated fairly.
As judge, he’ll ensure equal justice under the law for everyone.
Corey Friedman is a trial lawyer who fights almost daily in court to protect the civil rights of Florida families. He knows what it means for people to go to court, often during the most difficult period of their lives, and how to protect their rights. For more than a decade, Corey has fought to ensure that families have the same rights as powerful corporations and the wealthy so justice can be found and those who have been hurt get the help they need to recover.
This experience in the courtroom has afforded him the knowledge and temperament required to ensure those coming to court for family, criminal, or other matters have their cases heard impartially so justice can prevail and people can move forward with their lives.
Corey has spent his career fighting for your rights. As judge, he’ll protect everyone’s rights to ensure equal justice under the law.
Corey grew up in Broward County. He attended grade school in Plantation, and then his family relocated to Fort Lauderdale, where he completed high school. He attended law school at Nova Southeastern, where he graduated with honors and interned at the Office of the Florida Attorney General, protecting Florida consumers from deceptive trade practices.
Throughout his career, Corey has been consistently named to the National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 under 40 list as well as a Rising Star in Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers. Corey's Plan
Corey believes everyone who enters the courtroom deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. He knows County Court is often people's first experience with the judicial system. He’ll apply the law fairly and justly by:
Reaching decisions based on what’s right–not what’s popular or who is powerful
Pursuing justice for everyone–with fair and even-handed rulings
Treating everyone appearing in court with dignity and respect
Being prepared and issuing rulings expeditiously
Never prejudging a litigant or a legal issue
